Accommodation
Where will participants be accommodated during the winter school?
Participants will be housed at the student residences of Ahmedabad University during the winter school.
When will the student residences be available?
The residential facilities will be available from the evening of December 10 to the morning of December 20. Please make your travel arrangements accordingly.
Can I choose my roommate?
Participants will not be able to select their roommates.
How many people will share a single room?
Accommodations consist of rooms of double and triple sharing.
Meals
Are meals provided during the winter school?
Yes, meals are included.

Yes, we can accommodate special dietary preferences or restrictions.
Schedule and Sessions
What is the daily schedule like for the winter school?
The daily schedule typically includes three theory sessions, each lasting one and a half hours, and one tutorial session of the same duration. The day will typically begin at 8.00 AM with breakfast and end by 7.00 PM. Dinner will be provided post 7.00 PM. Participants should indicate well in advance whether they will stay for dinner or step out on their own so that we can plan accordingly. Please note that the schedule may vary on weekends but there will be classes every day including Saturday and Sunday.
How can I access information about the sessions and speakers?
The winter school website has all the necessary information regarding the sessions and the speakers.
Transportation
How can I reach the venue from the airport or train station?
You can take different modes of public transportation/auto rickshaws/cabs to get to the venue.
What modes of transportation are available to travel the city?
Public transportation like the metro and BRTS are available and well connected. Uber and Ola operate at all hours. Local rickshaws go by meter.
Is there any transportation provided between the accommodation and the event venue?
Yes, transportation will be provided in the form of a bus that will commute between the residence and the campus.
Social and Networking
Are there any planned networking opportunities?
Yes, there will be a designated break during which participants can engage in conversations with the speaker if he/she is available.
Any kind of special requirements for clothing?
For everyday wear during the winter school, anticipate a light to medium winter climate in Ahmedabad, so please pack accordingly. Additionally, we encourage you to bring one pair of both traditional clothing and sportswear.
Tech Requirements
What should I bring in terms of tech equipment for the winter school?
Please ensure to bring your laptops to the winter school, and having a notebook for roughwork is advisable.
Is there Wi-Fi available at the venue?
Ans: Yes, Wi-Fi facilities are available at both the residence and the campus.
Registration and Check-In
What documents do I need to bring for registration and check-in?
You will need to bring your identification proof (e.g., Aadhaar card) and your college ID. Additionally, you will also need to bring your registration receipt.
Contact Information
Whom should I contact for assistance during the winter school?
A volunteer, currently a student at Ahmedabad University, will be assigned to each participant. They will serve as your first point of contact for any assistance you may need throughout the winter school. You will hear from them shortly.
City Exploration
Are there any recommended places to visit or explore in Ahmedabad during free time?
Few famous places to visit in Ahmedabad:LD Museum (Lalbhai Dalpatbhai Museum), Kanoria Centre for Arts, Ahmedabad ni Guffa, Sabarmati Riverfront Ellisbridge, Manek Chowk. These are not the only places you can contact the volunteer who is assigned to you for more places.
Certificates and Recognition
Will participants receive certificates of attendance or completion?
